Queen Demon by Martha Wells

Queen Demon is the second book in Martha Well’s The Rising World series. I really enjoyed the first book, Witch King, which I read in July 2024. Queen Demon starts where Witch King left off and I struggled to remember all the backstory and characters. It made the first third of the book a slog. Happily I was rewarded for my persistence. Once I finally got settled in the story I didn’t want to put it down. Reading the two books one after another would have been more enjoyable.

The world, characters, and story of the The Rising World series are engaging and a joy to read. I’m looking forward to the next installment!
