Back in the last millennium I graduated from the Electronics program at BCIT (the British Columbia Institute of Technology). I was very happy. It was my goal in high school and I had achieved it!

My mother was even happier!!! When she got her copy of this photo she went straight to the local newspaper, the Quesnel Cariboo Observer, and gave them my graduation info! Quesnel was small enough this was a thing that was done. The result was yours truly getting a mention in the local paper.

The next time I visited home I was given this newspaper clipping. At the time I was m’eh. Now when I look at it I remember her delight and it makes me smile just a little.
